I'm Ilana Schimmel (She/Her) Welcome to my website! I am actor, singer, director, production designer, sound/lighting designer, teaching artist.. the list goes on and on..
Since graduating from Montclair State University (summa cum laude) with a B.A in Theater Studies, I have literally done/tried/loved/ it all and continue to challenge myself in my capabilities of how I can produce art.
Recently, I have been a resident actor and production designer at a non-profit theater in NJ which has been an incubator for new and underproduced works by world renowned playwrights, such as Eric Bogosian, Beth Henley, John Patrick Shanley, Edward Albee, Sam Shepard and even Paul Schrader. I have had the absolute pleasure to work with these artists/their estates on the most personal level and am grateful for the mentorship.

But Ilana!! What do you do other than all that? ^

I’m glad you asked!

I LOVE soccer. I have been playing since I was 4 years old. My position is usually Striker (I love scoring), but I also dabble in midfield. I now play in an mens pickup league every Sunday morning and in a womens league every spring and fall. I was also a coach for 6 Years teaching children ages Pre-K-14 years old.

Other hobbies include, but are not limited to:
cooking, traveling, camping, decorating/throwing parties for all my friends, watching movies, playing video games, sippin coffee and dancing with my cat (featured in photo).
